Sampling

  • A sterile syringe is used to flush the sample line.

  • A new sterile syringe is used to sample the broth.

  • The sample is dispensed into a sample tube and either immediately processed, or stored at appropriate storage conditions.

Processing

  • The sample is processed by the fermentation team and either stored at appropriate storage conditions or immediately transferred to the analytical team.

  • The sample is processed by the analytical team and injected onto the HPLC.

  • Unprocessed and processed HPLC samples are stored until two weeks after the harvest date.

Analysis

  • The chromatograms are analyzed by the analytical team.

  • The data are extracted and populated into an excel sheet.

  • All relevant calculations are completed.

Reporting

  • Results are uploaded to Console and may be downloaded as a CSV file.

  • Chromatography and sequence reports are uploaded to Console and can be viewed on the website, or downloaded in PDF format.

  • All other relevant information concerning solution preparation, sample dilutions, etc. can be found in the experiment record via google sheets.

HPLC Results Turnaround Time

  • HPLC result turnaround times are dependent on the total number of samples and the sample run time plus 2 business days.
